We, the members of Sobornost for the World Foundation, aspire to promote justice, love and peace in a world scarred by inequality and injustice.
We strive to bring into our communities an awareness of the exploitation of our poor sisters and brothers in developing countries and to promote understanding of involvement in fair trade. We seek to extend aid to impoverished orphans and families, so each person can live in dignity, beginning in sub-Saharan Africa.
We are a non-profit, tax-exempt organization working to increase awareness in America as to what is occurring in sub-Saharan Africa, as well as other developing nations, through the following means:
We have established programs in Zambia and Kenya that provide food, clothing, shelter and education to orphaned children.
We have become involved on a local level with promoting fair trade crafts and speaking about fair trade in local communities and churches.
We fundraise for these projects and coordinate the efforts of the people involved.
We foster dignity, solidarity, and subsidiarity towards Africa, as well as other developing nations through information, public advocacy, monetary aid and fair trade.
We work for peace, justice and equality for the people of developing nations by becoming a bridge for these nations while operating in America, and cultivating projects that enhance communication, trade and friendship.
